What is Deionized Water/Demineralised Water/De-ionised Water?
Deionized Water (also called DI water) is a type of purified water in which mineral ions are removed. Tap water is usually contaminated with different ions from the soil, pipes, or other sources. Some of these common ions include calcium, sodium, copper, iron, chloride, and bromide.
Deionization of water will also remove dissolved gases that may be in the water. Deionization is a physical process which uses specially-manufactured ion exchange resins which bind to and filter out the mineral salts from water include calcium, sodium, copper, iron, chloride, and bromide.
Because the majority of water impurities are dissolved salts, deionization produces a high purity water.
What are the common uses of Deionized Water?

Why is it necessary to use De-ionised Water?
